Lean To / Live Trap hybridizes two objects that work in contradiction of each other. The first, a lean to structure - a simple structure used to aid in shelter and protection. The second, a live trap - a form of snare trap used to trick and trap prey. By putting these two structures together as a chain link sculpture I question the role of chain link as a material in society - used for creating borders and barriers, as a form of protection, but protection from who? Are you the protected or the prey? If you seek shelter, will you be trapped?
